Code Of Conduct

The Burns Lake Community Soccer’s Code of Conduct establishes a clear set of guidelines for team officials, players, parents, guardians and spectators. The primary goal is to help ensure that soccer if a fun, positive and enjoyable experience for all.

The Code of Conduct is based on the concept of fair play, defined by
4 basic principles:
• Respect for the rules
• Respect for the referees and their decisions
• Respect for all participants, including teammates, team officials and opponents
• Maintaining self-control at all times
It is a condition of club membership that all members follow the Code of Conduct at all times. Failure to comply with them will result in action from Burns Lake Community Soccer

As a player, you have a big part to play. The club asks every player to follow and respect the Code of Conduct. When playing soccer, players must:
• Play by the rules of the game
• Respect the referees and officials and to accept their decisions without criticism
• Be fair to opponents and treat them well – without them there would be no game!
• Encourage your teammates and help them to succeed
• Treat your coach/manager/administrator with respect and listen to what he/she says
• Speak respectfully, openly and honestly in private to your coach/manager should a dispute arise
• Zero tolerance of profanity, temper tantrums, violent behavior
• Shake hands with the other team and referee at the end of the match
• Be generous when you win and gracious if you lose
